This course is aimed at delegates that have previously attended a Foundation Course, have successfully passed the exam, and have gained some experience in a PRINCE2 Project Management environment.
The course now puts into practice the theory learned during the foundation course and helps delegates to deploy PRINCE2 in their projects and assume the role of Project Managers. It prepares the delegates for a more in depth understanding of PRINCE2, and enables them to successfully pass the Practitioner examination.
After the course participants will be able to:
• explain how the PRINCE2 process model fits together and know how to apply the processes to their projects
• explain the main ideas underlying each component and apply them correctly
• use the techniques described in PRINCE2
Delegates will be expected to have profound understanding of the PRINCE2 terms, understand the concepts and principles as very little theory is repeated and be familiar with the PRINCE2 Manual (Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2). The delegates are expected to prepare themselves well. The knowledge is tested at the beginning of the course.
The main part of the course is a two-day classroom event which blends exam strategy with practical exercises and very little formal presentation. The third day consists of a review of selected subjects followed by the Practitioner Exam in the afternoon. Delegates should plan to undertake up to 1 hour of self study evening of every course day.
The Practitioner Exam takes three hours.
